World Diabetes Day was observed by the community and health and wellness centre staff members, facilitated by ACE-ME Health Resource Officers, Mr. Doddanayak and Ms. Manjula in Koira, Bengaluru rural and Chinakavajara, Madhugiri districts. The students prepared charts about diabetes prevention and control and went for a ‘jatha’ on their cycles in the village and in front of the Grama Panchayat office. Swasthya Samithi members met and discussed the theme of World Diabetes Day. Grama Panchayat members, staff and community members assembled at the Gram Panchayat office. The ACE ME HROs spoke about key messages on diabetes and interacted with the community members.

Over 45 community members including community leaders, health care workers, Anganwadi teachers of neighbouring villages and school students actively took part in preparing models of healthy plate and food pyramid, discussing issues on diabetes facilitated by Mr. Ravi Kumar, RICPHI's Health Resource Officer in Doddavallabhi.
