Vision:
The Centre for Public Health will serve as a global resource centre for education, research, and service in public health, in the areas of chronic health conditions of underserved communities in India and beyond.
Mission:
To understand the determinants of chronic health problems of communities, particularly the underserved, and test their evidence-based and holistic solutions through applied and translational research.
To be an information and resource centre on community health issues for both, providers, and population.
To be a centre of excellence for professional training in public health.
Objectives:
To pursue applied research in the field of Public Health, in order to understand distribution and determinants of chronic ill-health in populations primarily within India and in low- and middle-income countries.
To explore and innovate appropriate solutions for chronic disease problems affecting underserved communities in resource-poor settings.
To scale up appropriate, affordable, sustainable, and successful solutions to chronic diseases that affect large populations.
To collaborate with local authorities, state and national governments, non-governmental organizations, private sector players, and advocacy groups in collectively addressing large scale health problems of national priority.
To train budding health professionals with the most up-to-date tools of assessing public health problems and finding their solutions via short term and long-term educational programs.
