Dr. Shalini Chandrashekhar Nooyi serves as the Vice Principal for Academics at Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore and also as a Sr. Technical Advisor at Ramaiah International Centre for Public Health Innovations. She is a specialist in Community Medicine as well as in Pediatrics with over 30 years of experience as an academician, an administrator and a mentor for undergraduate and postgraduate  medical students.  Before joining Ramaiah Medical College, she had worked in Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and the Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman.  

Dr. Shalini has conducted several research projects supported by international and national organisations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Ford Foundation, the United States Aids for International Development (USAID), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Her areas of interest range from non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, school health and biomedical waste management. She has significant contributions to the training manuals for safe management of biomedical waste in India.
