Dr. Prabhakar is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also serves as the Associate Dean for Technological Innovation and Training at UIC College of Medicine. Over last 30 years, his research has been focused on treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer immunotherapy. He is credited with multiple inventions, including but not limited to a vaccine platform to make vaccines more effective, therapeutic monoclonal antibodies against SARS, an anti-cancer treatment using gene silencing technology, and one of the most recent being a technology used in detection of SARS-Cov2 virus. A highly awarded and funded scientist in his field, Dr. Prabhakar has been associated with Gokula Education Foundation as a senior strategic adviser for several years.
